ABOUT LENOX HILL NEUROSURGERY
ABOUT
Lenox Hill Neurosurgery
Lenox Hill Hospital is world-renowned for our dedication to providing patients with superior care. We are ranked at the top in U.S. News & World Reports' 2023-2024 Best Hospitals for both Neurosurgery and Neurology and in Newsweek Statista’s 2024 list of the World’s Best Specialized Hospitals for Neurosurgery. We are proud to be recognized not only for our expertise but also for our compassionate approach to neurosurgical care.
Our multidisciplinary team focuses on minimally invasive surgical treatments of vascular diseases (including aneurysms, vascular malformations, and stroke), skull base and brain tumors, complex spinal disorders, cranioplasty and neuroplastic surgery, and restorative and geriatric disorders (hydrocephalus).
Our surgeons routinely perform in-office and virtual visits. To help our patients understand their personalized treatment plan, we create a video of instructions for each patient. An example can be found here under "Virtual office visits." Our patients also have access to clinical studies offering novel, state-of-the-art therapies developed by our own physicians, as well as those that are done in collaboration with other sites.
Lenox Hill Neurosurgery is led by Dr. David J. Langer, a world-renowned surgeon and leader in the field. John Boockvar, MD, is the vice chair of the Department of Neurosurgery and director of our Brain Tumor Center, the Pituitary/Neuroendocrine Center, and the New York Head and Neck Institute at Lenox Hill and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat hospitals. “Lenox Hill”, a documentary series which launched on Netflix in June 2020, and "Emergency NYC", which launched on Netflix in March of 2023, give an honest, intimate, and emphatic look at the lives of Drs. Langer, Boockvar, and our entire neurosurgical care team. Both shows reveal an intimate view of our doctors’ tireless efforts and eternal dedication to their patients and underscores the quality of care that Lenox Hill Neurosurgery provides.
